Renewal fees payable to the European Patent Office (EPO) will increase on 1 April 2010 whilst those payable to the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) will increase on 6 April 2010.
It is possible to pay renewal fees to the EPO and UKIPO up to 3 months in advance of the date on which the renewal fee is due.
This means that it will be possible to pay any European renewal fee due up to the end of June 2010 before 1 April 2010 at the current, lower rate. The UKIPO has informed us that it will be possible to pay any UK renewal fee due up to the end of July 2010 before 6 April 2010 at the current, lower rate.
If you are interested in saving costs for European renewal fees due between 1 April - 30 June 2010 and/or for UK renewal fees due between 6 April - 31 July 2010, please contact David Sullivan in our renewals department at mail@mewburn.com as soon as possible and preferably before 19 March 2010.
