AIPLA Women in IP Global Networking Event

Tuesday 4 May 2021 at 2.30pm (BST)

On Tuesday 4 May 2021, Mewburn Ellis will once again host (this year virtually) a global networking and discussion event to celebrate women in intellectual property and innovation. Everyone is welcome.

This virtual event will be based on Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming”, and will focus on some of the themes in the book that are relevant to women, and in particular women in intellectual property. Did you know, Michelle Obama herself was an intellectual property lawyer?!

The event will begin with a Welcome and Introduction session hosted by the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Then, the Mewburn Ellis event will be one of almost 30 break-out events hosted worldwide (but one of only two so-far confirmed break-out events hosted in the UK), each with a focus to one of themes identified in the book.

Our theme is Optimism, Growth and Fulfilment, and in particular how we can feel fulfilled in the workplace at all stages of our career. It is recognised that what makes people happy, grow and feel intrinsically motivated and positive about their role changes as they progress through their career, from a junior trainee to a senior partner. We will host a round table discussion with people at all stages of their career to see what gives them purpose in their role, and will then open the discussion to everyone, to ultimately explore what makes us happy at work.

We hope you can join us.
