スタッフ紹介

商標チームの一員であり、大規模な商標ポートフォリオの管理、国際的な出願および権利行使戦略の考案、商標紛争における和解交渉を中心に、あらゆる商標業務を担当。非常に複雑な証拠に基づく案件を含め、英国知的財産庁(UKIPO)における商標異議申立、取消、無効手続の豊富な経験を有する。また、商標出願に対する拒絶理由の解消においても優れた実績がある。
英国が欧州連合から離脱する前には、欧州連合知的財産庁(EUIPO)における手続の代理人として5年以上の経験を積んだ。また、ドメイン名紛争の手続についてクライアントにアドバイスし、異議を唱えられ得るドメイン名について訴訟前の対応を行う。
医薬商標グループ(PTMG)のメンバーであり、PTMGの春と秋の会議に出席。
欧州共同体商標協会(ECTA)のメンバーでもある。以前はハーモナイゼーション委員会の委員を務め、現在は地理的表示委員会の委員。ECTA年次大会に定期的に出席。
英国商標弁理士会(Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA))のReview Editorial Working Groupに所属し、CITMAの会員向け出版物の管理を担当。

クライアント

小規模なスタートアップ企業から大規模な多国籍企業まで多岐にわたる。ファッション、化粧品、食品・飲料、コンピュータ・ソフトウェアなど、さまざまな分野のクライアントを担当。特に医薬品分野に興味があり、研究開発の初期段階にある新興企業から国際的な市場をリードする企業まで、多くの製薬会社、コンシューマーヘルスケア会社、医療技術会社の商標ポートフォリオを管理。また、2019年に製薬会社に出向した際には、社内での知財業務を経験。

経歴

エクセター大学で英語の学士号を取得。ミューバン エリスには2012年に入社。2015年に英国商標弁理士の資格を取得。2021年にパートナーに昇格。
