The role
This is a role for someone bright, commercial, ambitious, and willing to work hard and who is passionate about developing a career in business development. There will be the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of activities and grow in this role for someone that shows aptitude to do this.

You’ll join a collaborative team in a leading professional services firm, where no two days are the same. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of activities, work closely with senior stakeholders, and have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive environment.
As a Business Development (BD) Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of our business development activities.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Helping the client onboarding processes with new client letters
- Producing business development reports, including deals and tender updates
- Supporting and attending internal and external events – from helping with content preparation through to attendee coordination
- Supporting pitches for new work
- Keeping firmwide statistics and proof points up to date
- Assisting with CRM tasks and maintaining HubSpot dashboards and data to help track clients, prospects and deals
- Contributing to award and directory submissions
- Conducting research on targets, companies, and events
- Helping with budgets, forecasts, and invoice tracking
- Providing general administrative support to keep the team running smoothly

About you
You don’t need prior BD experience or knowledge of intellectual property law – we’ll teach you what you need to know. What you do need is to be is interested in business development and a commercial, dynamic and ambitious personality who wants a role where you are part of a strong team that all muck in together to get the job done. What matters most though is your enthusiasm and drive.
You will have an analytical approach and enjoy research and data analysis and be commercially curious, to think like a client and look for ways to add value. You will be a confident communicator and able to engage with all levels across the firm. You will have a good level of education and be keen to grow and develop your career.
You will be commercially focused and think from a client’s perspective when managing tasks and consider the value that you can add in everything you do. You will be able to operate in a fast-paced environment, have excellent MS office skills with experience of CRM systems, ideally, HubSpot and familiarity with website CMS.
