On Wednesday 15 April, a small group of venture capital investors came together for an informal evening of discussion centred on technology, investment perspectives and the realities of scaling innovative businesses.
The group represented a broad range of investment theses across multiple sectors. While the underlying technologies varied, conversations consistently returned to shared themes: navigating complex funding environments, supporting early‑stage companies through periods of growth, and balancing technical innovation with commercial demands. Clear parallels emerged between businesses operating in very different spaces, highlighting common pressures and similar approaches to problem‑solving.

Discussion moved fluidly between investment decision‑making, the challenges faced by portfolio companies, and the practical considerations involved in bringing new technology to market. The exchange of perspectives created a collaborative dynamic, enabling participants to explore ideas collectively rather than simply present individual viewpoints.
The relaxed setting encouraged dialogue to continue beyond the core discussions. Over Italian wines and artisan juices curated by Jonesy Wines, conversations deepened further, allowing ideas to be explored in more detail and relationships to develop naturally.
