Mewburn Ellis are committed to inclusion. That’s why we’re proud to support Race Equality Matters with a £5,000 donation, helping to accelerate positive change for ethnically diverse communities and workplaces across the UK.
Race Equality Matters is a UK-wide, non profit collaboration launched in 2020 to turn words into action following the global call for racial justice. It brings together thousands of organisations and millions of employees to tackle race inequality in the workplace. Their mission is simple yet powerful: to create meaningful, sustainable change by co-developing practical solutions with those who have lived experience.
Initiatives such as Race Equality Week, the #MyNameIs campaign, Safe Space and The Big Promise encourage honest conversations and commitments to change, and all resources are offered free of charge to ensure that lack of budget never becomes a barrier to progress.
One of their flagship initiatives is the 5-Day Challenge, a short, structured programme that takes just five minutes a day for five days. It raises awareness, sparks self-reflection and inspires meaningful action on race equity. In 2025, 1,520 organisations took part, reaching over two million employees, and 79% of surveyed participants said the Challenge supported them in committing to tackling race equality. This demonstrates the power of simple, accessible tools to drive real change.
As budgets get harder for everyone, Race Equality Matters have told us that our contribution is crucial to help them continue offering free resources, events and solution guides to organisations nationwide. These tools empower businesses to take practical steps toward race equality, ensuring that change is not just promised but delivered. As they say, there should be no words without action and we’re proud to play a part in that action.
Javed Thomas, Co-Founder at Race Equality Matters states:
"Addressing inequality is more important now than ever. Race Equality Matters are able to support those most affected by race inequality, exclusion and disadvantage by providing them with free resources that make a meaningful impact, because of invaluable support from wonderful partners like Mewburn Ellis. Where many organisations are stepping away from Race, it's heart warming that Mewburn Ellis are doing the polar opposite and leaning in so we can give hope inspiration and light at the end of a tunnel for those that they feel forgotten and invisible. #ChangeMaker"
