Associate, Patent Attorney


Andrew is a member of our chemistry and materials team. His work is primarily focused on catalysis and chemical production methods, including drafting for local clients and EP prosecution for large overseas (usually Japanese) multinationals.

  • Processes for the production of feedstock chemicals, polymers and fine chemicals

  • New recycling technologies for polymers and metals


Andrew handles European prosecution and opposition work for several large multinational clients in the industrial chemicals sector. He also assists several UK university tech transfer agencies with initial invention capture and patent drafting, as well as global prosecution of their patent portfolios.


Andrew has a Master’s degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the same institution. Andrew joined Mewburn Ellis in 2015 qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 2019 and a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2020.
