Background
Katie graduated from the University of Leeds with a first class Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. During this time, Katie also studied abroad at Western University in Ontario, Canada.
For her Bachelor’s project Katie conducted research into a novel hypothesis of macular hole formation within the eye. This modelled the macula of the eye as a bistable mechanism, investigating this as a cause of hole formation. Her Master’s project investigated morphing wing design in the aviation industry, analysing the potential benefits of utilising a morphing wing design instead of a fixed wing structure for light and commercial aircraft.
Katie also worked in the aviation industry during her time at the University of Leeds, giving her exposure to the commercial application of intellectual property.
Katie joined Mewburn Ellis is 2020.
