Areas of Expertise

  • Process engineering
  • Porous nanomaterials (particularly MOFs)
  • Adsorptive systems
  • Consumer electronics

Background

Philip has an MEng in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His research project focused on using machine learning to accelerate the prediction of electrostatic charge distribution within metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), a class of porous nanomaterials.

Philip subsequently worked as a process engineer at a MOF-focused startup, where he led the scale-up of their manufacturing process and worked on the development of MOF-based adsorptive systems including hydrogen storage, carbon capture, and air purification. He then worked as a quality assurance engineer testing consumer electronics products such as smart TVs and soundbars.

He joined Mewburn Ellis in 2024.
