On Tuesday 21 July a team of 13 Mewburn runners from across our offices took part in the Standard Chartered Great City Race 2020 – Run from Home. Whilst the pandemic meant it was not possible to stage the 5km corporate challenge on its traditional course through the City of London, the format was revised so that it could still take place. Partakers ran from wherever they were, at whatever time they chose, as long as they started and completed their 5km on 21 July.
£5 from each entry fee will be donated to Futuremakers and all money raised from this year’s event will go toward education, employability and entrepreneurship programmes for disadvantaged young people around the world.
Our team Eleanor Maciver, Graham Forrest, Genevieve Pugh, Jen Williams, Alison Fugard, Jenna Norton, Fay Allen, Richard Muttett, Celine Sjauw, Dan Brodsky, Niles Beadman, Sarah Harvey and Jacqueline Murphy all completed their run – some more speedily than others. But as they say “it's not the winning but the taking part that counts"
