Read our law and practice guidesIsobel is a patent attorney in our London Life Sciences team. She has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications as well as in oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office. She works with both UK and international clients, including frequent collaboration with US law firms, to develop and strengthen global patent portfolios.
Her technical expertise lies in biochemistry, with a particular interest in genetic engineering, cell and gene therapies, and molecular biology. Isobel applies her scientific knowledge to deliver precise, commercially relevant patent solutions. Her final-year project investigated the evolution of the human burn response, comparing post-burn gene expression in humans and rats to understand how these processes developed.
Background
Isobel graduated with a first-class degree in Biochemistry from Imperial College London.
She joined Mewburn Ellis LLP in 2021 and qualified as a UK and European Patent Attorney in 2025.
