Women’s health has long been underfunded and overlooked. For that reason, we decided to support a charity that is leading the way in changing that, through research, education, and advocacy.

Having been recognised as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women in 2025, we are continuing to charge the way for women through a range of opportunities.
We are pleased to again be holding a Women in Innovation and IP in-person networking event alongside AIPLA and IP Inclusive in our Manchester office – this event is open to everyone but focused on women’s success and visibility in innovative sectors.

Fran is a Partner and Patent Attorney at Mewburn Ellis. She works in all patent cycle stages within the life sciences sector – from invention capture, drafting and patent strategy to prosecution and global portfolio management. Fran is a member of our plant variety rights team, having completed the official WIPO course on plant variety protection under the UPOV convention. As such, she has extensive experience dealing with plant-related inventions, including obtaining plant variety rights and entry onto the national list and common catalogue.
