Emma is a Senior Associate and seasoned intellectual property lawyer with extensive experience advising clients across a broad spectrum of commercial transactions and legal issues requiring in-depth legal research into knotty areas of intellectual property law. Her transaction experience spans complex research and development collaborations, licensing, joint ventures and assignment agreements, and strategic IP due diligence for high-value mergers, acquisitions, and IPOs.

Areas of Expertise

Emma provides pragmatic and commercially focused advice on the full range of intellectual property rights, including patents, copyright, trade marks, designs, and trade secrets. She regularly counsels clients on entitlement and ownership issues and the protection and exploitation of intangible assets in both domestic and cross-border contexts, as well as on regulatory matters such as the Nagoya Protocol. Emma also handles a range of data privacy issues for clients, and their data compliance practices in respect of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR.

In addition to her client-facing work, Emma plays an active role in knowledge sharing and legal education. She delivers regular internal training sessions on legal developments for colleagues and clients and collaborates with external training providers to present on a wide range of IP topics. Her recent speaking engagements have covered areas such as co-ownership of intellectual property and key case law updates.
