We are delighted to announce that Susannah Dragosavac will join our Technology & Engineering team on 1 October 2025, further enhancing our digital health, AI and med-tech capabilities.
Susannah brings more than 18 years’ experience in drafting, prosecuting and opposing/defending patents across a wide range of technologies. She has advised clients from early-stage start-ups through to blue chip corporations, working on matters spanning language modelling to medical devices, across the product lifecycle.
Her expertise includes proactive management of large, complex patent portfolios and the successful adaptation and prosecution of US-originating invention applications before the EPO. As a result of her experience embedded with the in-house IP team of a global med-tech corporation, Susannah also offers a commercially pragmatic perspective.
This appointment further strengthens our capabilities in AI, an area where we have long-standing expertise and a clear forward-looking vision. Central to this is the our AI Strategy & Action Plan, which sets out how Mewburn Ellis is addressing both the opportunities and challenges of AI. Through this strategy, we are not only advising clients on the IP issues surrounding AI but also actively engaging with how the technology is transforming the profession itself.
Our commitment to shaping the future of AI is also reflected in our investment in the next generation of talent, including our recent 2025 Summer AI, Machine Learning & Informatics Internship Programme, which provided hands-on experience in emerging technologies and their IP challenges.
With continued AI advancements in the healthcare, automotive, and software sectors, to name but a few, the future of AI holds enormous potential. The appointment of Susannah further strengthens our capabilities in this space and reinforces the firm’s position at the forefront of helping clients protect and maximise the value of these innovations.
