Top patent litigator Camilla Balleny to head Mewburn Ellis patent litigation team

We are delighted to announce that life sciences and healthcare specialist litigator Camilla Balleny has joined the firm as of 1 May 2025.

Camilla brings two decades of experience as a litigator to bear in her work advising life sciences companies on complex disputes. As the firm’s first Head of Patent Litigation, she will be part of the wider Legal Practice Group. Her focus will be on the development of the firm’s patent litigation practice, with her particular focus being on servicing the firm’s life sciences and healthcare clients.

Camilla has represented clients across the sector for many years and in different courts, in relation to both patents and SPCs. Her specialist advice ranges from pre-litigation strategic planning to the implementation of multi-jurisdictional enforcement and defence projects, often covering multiple patents. With her technical background and years of experience, she has a deep understanding of the importance of such matters and has a reputation for delivering pragmatic and client centred advice.

Camilla will work closely with our top ranked teams to enhance the litigation offering to clients.
