A concise look at sector growth and the role of intellectual property in monitoring sector development and future opportunities.
Launching our new report, Ascending Trends in Space Technology, we provide an overview of how the global space sector is developing, highlighting patterns and trends in the sector using intellectual property data. The report is designed to give European and UK space businesses, particularly SMEs, practical insight into the direction of the industry and what this could mean for their own innovation strategies.
Annual global launches have increased significantly - from around 250 in 2010 to a projected 3,000 in 2024. The report examines patterns in patent and trade mark filings to provide a snapshot of where technological advances are taking place and how and where businesses are protecting those innovations. The trends emphasise the importance of understanding and safeguarding IP as part of long-term commercial planning.
SMEs are playing an increasingly important role in the space sector. This mini report highlights global opportunities with IP and how to make the most of innovation in a cost-effective way.
